Norbert Alexiou was born in Nieder-Ramstadt, Germany in 1961. In 1983 he started in the TV business as a camera operator for the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt. From 1983 to 1987 Norbert worked for the two German channels ARD and ZDF, reaching across the entertainment spectrum from news and culture to entertainment and movies.


Since 1987, Norbert has specialized in TV entertainment shows, serving both as director and director of photography for Treffpunkt Airport, Leo´s Magazin, Opernball Frankfurt and Mainspot. His development of the experimental format 40 Jahre ARD revamped the on-air design of the national broadcaster.

Additionally Norbert has created and produced content for various TV shows on German television: the political show Wechselrede, the VIP-show Prominenz Privat, the nature-show Wunder der Erde, the cooking-series Schmeckt´s and the antique car series Zum Fahren viel zu schade. He also produced the 1990 New Year’s Eve show Lambada for the ARD broadcasted from Brazil.

Norbert also wrote and produced the trailer for the successful TV series Die Kommissarin, Florida Lady and Alle meine Töchter for the ARD and ZDF. From 1992 to 1994 he was responsible for the presentation of the ARD pre-evening programming for their advertising clients, followed by similar assignments for ZDF from 1995 to 1996.

Norbert moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and began working as an independent producer specializing in international biography, travel and adventure documentaries. He also started his own company, A&P Pictures LLC, with his partner, the German actor Jürgen Prochnow, focusing on international feature fiction film productions.


Stefan Starina, born in Offenburg/Germany in 1966, holds a degree in Business Communications from the Fachhochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (University of Technology and Economics) in Berlin.


Stefan embarked on his professional career as a freelance producer for the German TV magazine show Wochenmarkt on the Sender Freies Berlin (SFB) and covered many exciting stories about policy, economy and science.


In 1998, Stefan set up a TV production company with his partners, the Berlin-based VIDICON GmbH. He is still associated with the company that is well-known for documentaries, including those about East Germany’s dictatorship during the Cold War.


Before moving to the U.S., Stefan wrote, directed and produced Armeeknast Schwedt – das Straflager der NVA, a 45-minute long documentary about an army prison in communist East Germany where young soldiers were brainwashed to conform to the system. The documentary premiered on the Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR) in 2002, and has been re-broadcast many times on the MDR and other German regional public channels.


In 2000, Stefan moved to Los Angeles and began working as an independent producer in the U.S. Since then, he produced the 30-minute documentary Saving Salties for National Geographic: On Assignment and the short documentary The Nebra Sky Disc – The World’s Oldest Map of the Heavens for National Geographic Today, both daily science magazine shows on the National Geographic Channel. For the past four years, Stefan developed, produced and directed ID inComplete – One Man’s Quest for his True Identity with his partner Norbert Alexiou.
